“From its inception, Kalamoo’s purpose was to bring smiles, laughter, and colorful life to people in the community, especially the young. To now see the growth this organization has made in teaching youth through STEM, brings hope for a better future.”

Working alongside Kalamoo Community Outreach during the Suffolk National Night Out was both inspiring and impactful. This year’s event reached over 8,500 community members, making it one of our larger and more engaging outreach efforts this year! As the Community Health Educator at Sentara Obici Hospital, I was truly motivated throughout the planning process by the passion and leadership demonstrated by Cusi and the Kalamoo Community Outreach team. Their commitment to STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and to creating educational, empowering opportunities for our youth and families aligns beautifully with Sentara’s mission to improve health every day. Kalamoo’s enthusiasm for community elevation and health equity makes the collaboration seamless and purpose-driven. Their ability to connect with diverse audiences and champion initiatives that blend innovation, education, and wellness brought tremendous value to the event. It is always a pleasure partnering with Kalamoo Community Outreach. "Our time with Kalamoo has been a critical component in our family’s homeschooling routine. We started with Lego club, and over the years our kids have transitioned through Lego League, and now Tech Challenge.
